Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, skilled Medical Assistant to join our clinical team at GCFM. As a trusted member of our care team, you will play a meaningful role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the daily flow of our back-office operations. Our clinic is a fast-paced, high-volume practice that offers direct patient care experience and learning opportunities — making it an excellent environment for those pursuing advanced studies in healthcare.
What You'll Do
- Set the tone for each patient encounter by embodying professionalism, respect, and compassion
- Interview patients and document medical history accurately in the EMR
- Obtain and document patient vital signs
- Perform chart preparation, including obtaining and coordinating records
- Renew, update, and reconcile medications
- Order and coordinate appropriate diagnostic testing
- Assist during medical examinations
- Perform ECGs, spirometry, ABI, and SVN treatments
- Process urine drug screens, pregnancy tests, and STI cultures
- Administer pediatric and adult immunizations and medication injections
- Obtain reports from ASIIS and update historical immunization records
- Administer Medicare cognitive testing
- Produce and distribute clinical letters, faxes, and forms
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Uphold patient confidentiality and GCFM's core values in all interactions
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a medical office setting (family practice preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited organization (CMA, RMA, or CCMA); or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days of hire
- Current CPR / BLS Provider certification
- Associate degree or equivalent clinical training (Required)

- Experience with Nextgen EMR
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize, adapt, and pivot in a high-volume environment
- Self-starter with a solutions-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail
