Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, patient-focused Medical Front Office Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for patients at GCFM. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering a positive patient experience from arrival through departure. This position is well suited for individuals with goals to pursue advanced medical training, offering exposure to clinical workflows and healthcare operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
What You'll Do
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Assist patients at check-in and check-out with professionalism and care
- Collect patient copays, coinsurance, and deductibles
- Answer and triage incoming phone calls
- Document patient communications accurately in the EMR
- Coordinate medical records requests
- Update lab orders
- Process referrals and prior authorizations
- Route incoming faxes and documents to appropriate team members
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a medical office setting
- Strong computer skills; experience with Nextgen EMR preferred
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification from an accredited institution
- Bachelor's degree (any field)
- Experience with scheduling, prior authorizations, and referral coordination
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with excellent prioritization and adaptability
